The national market for medium-displacement motorcycles may soon receive the addition of two notable models, which promise to intensify competition. The QJ Motor SRK 300 S and SRK 300 SA, motorcycles with bold aesthetics, inverted front suspension, ABS brakes and liquid-cooled single-cylinder engines, are the main candidates to join the SBM line, distributed by Shineray do Brasil.

These two motorcycles aim to offer superior technology and performance in a segment currently dominated by established models, such as the Honda CB 300F Twister, Yamaha FZ25 and Bajaj Dominar 250. Although they have similar displacement, each QJ Motor version presents a specific configuration for different audiences.

The SRK 300 S is designed for a more comfortable and versatile riding experience, while the SRK 300 SA adopts a sportier stance, with lower weight and a higher power engine. This way, SBM could serve different consumer profiles within the same motorcycle category.

To date, Shineray has not released official information about the nomenclature, prices or launch date of the two models in Brazil. If approved for the national market, they could be identified as SBM 300S and SBM 300SA, following the standard already established with the SBM 400S.

Comfort and urban use characteristics of the QJ Motor SRK 300 S

The QJ Motor SRK 300 S is designed as an ideal alternative for everyday use in the city. This model stands out for its higher handlebars, single seat and a less inclined riding position, features that favor both everyday life and short trips and passenger transport.

Its design incorporates elements of contemporary naked cars, with a compact headlight, robust tank, side air intakes and well-defined lines. The presence of an inverted front suspension, with forks that may have a gold finish in certain versions, elevates the perception of a higher category model.

The mechanical system consists of a 292 cm³ single-cylinder engine, with four valves, simple overhead control and liquid cooling. The estimated power for the motorcycle is approximately 28.6 hp, accompanied by a torque of approximately 24 Nm, equivalent to approximately 2.45 kgfm.

The SRK 300 S gearbox has six speeds. However, the availability of assist and slipper clutches is not consistently reported in all markets by the manufacturer, requiring confirmation for a possible Brazilian configuration.

With a weight of 162 kg, the SRK 300 S is not among the lightest motorcycles in its range, but it offers accessible dimensions. The seat is 785 mm from the ground, making it easier for riders of different heights to support their feet.

The fuel tank has a capacity of 12.5 liters. With an estimated consumption of between 25 km/l and 30 km/l, the theoretical autonomy could vary from 312 to 375 kilometers. However, official consumption in Brazil will depend on homologation tests and calibration for the national fuel.

Technical details of the SRK 300 S: suspension and braking system

The SRK 300 S is equipped with an inverted front suspension and a monoshock system at the rear. This type of front fork is often associated with greater structural rigidity and improved front-end control, although ultimate performance is determined by manufacturer-specific calibration.

Brakes include a 300mm disc on the front wheel and a 240mm disc on the rear, both complemented by a dual-channel ABS system. This configuration allows the system to monitor each wheel individually, minimizing the chance of locking during more intense braking.

The alloy wheels are 17 inches. The front tire measures 110/70, while the rear uses 140/60. This is a common combination on medium-displacement street bikes, seeking a balance between stability, agility and maintenance costs.

Presentation of the QJ Motor SRK 300 SA with a sportier proposal

The other potential novelty is the QJ Motor SRK 300 SA, which is distinguished by a more sporty approach. Despite maintaining the naked architecture, this model stands out for its more inclined riding position, low semi-handlebars, split seat and a high rear.

The design of the SRK 300 SA is focused on attracting consumers who value sporty aesthetics and more dynamic driving. Elements such as the mirrors at the ends of the handlebars, the LED optical system and the aggressive lines contribute to distinguishing this version from its more urban sister.

Ergonomics for the passenger tend to be less comfortable due to the compact rear seat and higher footpegs. Therefore, the SRK 300 SA seems more suitable for individual use, short journeys and trips on winding roads, rather than frequent trips with a pillion.

Its single-cylinder engine, measuring 299.1 cm³, features four valves, double overhead camshafts and liquid cooling. The declared power reaches approximately 32.6 hp, and the torque reaches 28 Nm, equivalent to around 2.85 kgfm.

In addition to being more powerful, the SRK 300 SA weighs just 144 kg. The weight-to-power ratio approaches 4.4 kg per hp, a very competitive number for a single-cylinder motorcycle in this range.

How weight variation impacts motorcycle performance

The difference of approximately 18 kg between the two models is one of the most significant aspects when comparing them. Even with similar displacements, the SRK 300 SA combines superior power with a considerably lower mass, which is crucial for performance.

This specific combination tends to result in faster accelerations, more vigorous speed recovery and greater ease in maneuvering. On the other hand, the SRK 300 S compensates for its superior weight with friendlier ergonomics and expanded space for the rider and passenger.

The distinction in characteristics highlights that the models were designed to serve different audience segments. The SRK 300 S version aligns itself with a more conventional street category, while the SRK 300 SA adopts a configuration closer to a compact sports naked.

Market competition: SBM versus Honda CB 300F

The Honda CB 300F Twister is widely recognized as one of the main reference points and models for new motorcycles to surpass. The popularity of the Japanese motorcycle is the result of a combination of balanced performance, low weight, vast dealer network, ease of maintenance and excellent liquidity on the used market.

The probable SBM 300S would have a power comparable to that of the Honda, but would struggle to stand out due to its appearance, the inverted front suspension and a different technological package. The SRK 300 SA, on the other hand, would offer greater power and less weight, positioning itself as a more sporty option.

The market dispute, however, will not be decided just by analyzing the models’ technical data. Factors such as the launch price, the warranty offered, the availability of spare parts, the cost of inspections, the value of insurance and the extent of the dealer network will be crucial for the acceptance of new motorcycles.

Honda maintains a significant advantage in terms of network reach and established reputation in Brazil. To attract and retain consumers, SBM will not only need to present a competitive price, but also demonstrate that its after-sales infrastructure is capable of serving owners, especially outside large urban centers.

Price projections for new SBM motorcycles in the Brazilian market

So far, there is no official information about the price of the two motorcycles. Any estimate needs to take into account the positioning of the SBM 400S, a 41 hp twin-cylinder model that was launched on the national market with an approximate value of R$33,500.

To prevent the new models from competing domestically with the existing lineup, the 300cc versions would likely be lower in cost. A strategic positioning would place the SRK 300 S at a lower price than the SRK 300 SA, with the difference justified by the more powerful engine, lower weight and sporty components of the second version.

A price range between R$25,000 and R$30,000 could make the models very attractive to the public, but this is just a projection based on the market scenario. Taxes, logistics costs, eventual assembly in Brazil, approved equipment and Shineray’s commercial strategy may significantly change the final values.

If the SRK 300 SA has a price very close to that of the SBM 400S, the consumer may choose to invest a little more in a twin-cylinder motorcycle with greater power. Therefore, price definition will be a determining factor in avoiding unnecessary competition within the brand itself.

SBM line strategy to expand QJ Motor’s operations in Brazil

The SBM brand was developed by Shineray do Brasil with the aim of selling models resulting from partnerships with international manufacturers, among which QJ Motor stands out. This strategy aims to offer a diverse range of motorcycles of different displacements and categories, with exclusive stores, dedicated spaces and its own after-sales structure.

QJ Motor is part of the Chinese conglomerate Qianjiang, which also controls Benelli and has a stake in the Geely Group, one of the largest automotive manufacturers in the world. The company has a vast international portfolio, ranging from scooters and nakeds to sports cars, customs and big trails.

This wide variety of products allows SBM to evaluate and select different models for the Brazilian market, without limiting itself to a single category. In addition to the 300 cc naked cars, there is the possibility of introducing 400 cc, 500 cc, 700 cc and 900 cc motorcycles, which are being considered for the brand’s future expansion in the country.

Necessity of approval and official confirmation for the launch of motorcycles

Despite the expectations generated, the simple existence of the SRK 300 S and SRK 300 SA in QJ Motor’s international catalog does not automatically guarantee their launch in Brazil. There are a series of essential steps to be completed before effective commercialization.

For motorcycles to reach the market, they need to undergo a detailed assessment by the importer, compliance with strict Brazilian environmental standards, approval processes, definition of final equipment and careful inventory and after-sales planning.

The commercial names of the models can also be changed for the national market. Following the current SBM standard, they could receive the names SBM 300S and SBM 300SA, but this information has not yet been officially released by Shineray.

Furthermore, exhibiting models at Brazilian events does not guarantee an immediate launch. Manufacturers often use these opportunities to survey public reaction, dialogue with dealers and assess commercial potential before confirming the sale.

Potential of new SBM for consumers and the motorcycle market

Based on international specifications, the two motorcycles present significant arguments to attract consumers. The SRK 300 S could be an interesting option for those looking for a comfortable motorcycle, with a modern design and equipped with inverted suspension and ABS brakes as standard.

In turn, the SRK 300 SA stands out for its weight of 144 kg and its power of 32.6 hp. If these data are maintained in the Brazilian version, it could offer one of the best weight-to-power ratios among single-cylinder nakeds in the 300 cc range, giving it a competitive advantage.

However, the real cost-benefit of these motorcycles can only be fully assessed after the official release of prices, warranty details, the revision plan and the effective availability of spare parts in the country.

To truly challenge the Honda CB 300F and other rivals already established on the market, it will not be enough to simply offer more power or a superior equipment package. SBM will need to combine highly competitive pricing, efficient customer service and build a solid reputation for after-sales trust. If these factors align, the two new models have the potential to significantly increase competition and offer the Brazilian consumer different options within the same engine capacity.
