IPhone users receive Liquid Glass on WhatsApp: find out how the new interface is
WhatsApp has started rolling out Liquid Glass design elements to some beta testers on iPhone. This modernization expands the visual language that Apple introduced with iOS 26 into the app’s conversations. With the change, several components of the chat area now display effects of transparency, depth and an aesthetic that resembles glass. The distribution of these new features occurs in a gradual and controlled manner, using the TestFlight platform. The initiative aims to harmonize the messenger with the Apple ecosystem, which seeks a more integrated and intuitive user experience through its visual identity.
New visual interactions come to messenger with Liquid Glass
Among the most recent innovations, the context menu that appears when pressing and holding a message stands out. This element now incorporates translucent layers and blurs, providing a heightened perception of depth. The application update continues with the inclusion of Liquid Glass in other parts of the interface, including components that had already been included in the new design in previous beta versions, such as the reaction bar with emojis.
The visual concept in question adheres to the standard established by Apple, which uses surfaces with a glassy finish to highlight menus, buttons and other functionalities of the operating system. As these elements are frequently accessed during interactions, the change increases the presence of the new style in the daily use of the application.
