The horror film ‘Obsession’, directed by Curry Barker, has established itself as the biggest hit of the genre this year to date. The production accumulated a global box office gross of US$334 million and continues to attract viewers to theaters. However, the expectation for its arrival on digital platforms already has a date set for the public to watch from home.

The long-awaited debut of ‘Obsession’ on digital platforms is scheduled for Tuesday, June 30th. From this date on, audiences will be able to rent or buy the film to watch in the comfort of their homes, taking advantage of the popularity that the film has achieved on the big screen.

Domestically, ‘Obsession’ grossed US$217 million in the United States. The worldwide total, as mentioned, already totals US$334 million, and the pace at the box office does not show a significant slowdown. The positive reception from the public, driven by strong word of mouth, contributed to the film maintaining and even expanding its performance over the weeks.

Given its success, the possibility of a sequel to ‘Obsession’ is seen as quite likely. Director Curry Barker already has ideas for a second film, but there are no plans to start production on ‘Obsession 2’ immediately.

Barker, on the other hand, is focused on finishing his next work, ‘Anything But Ghosts’, which has already been filmed. He also just closed a deal to develop a new original horror project in partnership with Blumhouse and Universal.

Furthermore, the filmmaker has his name linked to directing the next film in the franchise ‘The Texas Chainsaw Massacre’.

In ‘Obsession’, which marked Curry Barker’s theatrical debut, a hopeless young romantic breaks the mysterious Wishing Willow in an attempt to win the heart of his beloved. He gets exactly what he asked for, but soon discovers that certain desires can have a dark and sinister price.
