Raphinha prefers Barcelona to Saudi Arabia’s R$590 million proposal and focuses on the World Cup with Brazil
Striker Raphinha’s focus is entirely on the next World Cup, as he works to recover from a muscle injury to his right thigh. The athlete’s main desire is to be available to the team coach as soon as possible and continue participating in the tournament.
The interest of Saudi Arabian clubs in the number 11 has been known for some time. During the second half of 2024, Raphinha turned down an offer from Al Hilal, a Saudi club, which proposed a three-year contract. The amount offered would reach 100 million euros, which represents approximately R$590 million at the current exchange rate, just in salary compensation.
With his economic condition consolidated, the Brazilian player decided to continue his career at Barcelona. In the Spanish team, Raphinha aims to lift the UEFA Champions League trophy and, ideally, complete his professional journey there. The family’s choice to continue living in Spain also strongly influenced their determination, reflecting a growing trend of athletes prioritizing sporting projects and personal well-being over immediate financial offers from emerging markets.
A decisive element in his stay at the club and the subsequent extension of his contract until June 2028 was his remarkable bond with Hansi Flick. The German coach has great regard for the player, even appointing him as one of the team captains, with the agreement of the other athletes.
Currently, Raphinha manages her career without a formal agent, having recently declined offers from three renowned international agencies. Among them, Roc Nation, from the United States, and CAA Base, from the United Kingdom, stand out, with one of the proposals totaling around 8 million euros, approximately R$47 million, for an exclusive representation contract.
At 29 years old, the Brazilian striker manages his career behind the scenes in collaboration with his wife, Natalia Belloli. Both receive support from a team of experienced specialists in the world of football, including lawyers and press and image consultants.
The Barcelona athlete has advertising contracts with at least five large corporations. Partnerships include Adidas, a supplier of sports equipment; Calvin Klein, focused on clothing and accessories; Airbnb, in the accommodation sector; Realme, a cell phone manufacturer; and Coristina, from pharmaceutical products.
After consolidating his career in European football, Raphinha began to implement social initiatives in his homeland, Rio Grande do Sul, with a focus on Porto Alegre. These meetings, held annually at the end of the year, represent a financial contribution valued at approximately R$1 million.
Demonstrating a deep family bond, the striker ensured the closeness of his family, including during the World Cup phase. He invited parents, siblings, in-laws and some cousins to share the same house.
It is worth mentioning that Raphinha suffered the injury during the match against Haiti, in which the Brazilian team triumphed 3-0, valid for the second round of Group C. If the recovery goes according to plan, both in his personal performance and that of the team, the number 11 of the Brazilian team is expected back for the round of 16 stages.
