Arsenal makes a new investment of R$377 million for Bruno Guimarães after Newcastle’s refusal in a million-dollar negotiation
Midfielder Bruno Guimarães, a key player in the Brazilian team in the group stage of the World Cup, became the target of a new proposal from Arsenal. The current English champion offered 55 million pounds, equivalent to approximately R$377 million, in an attempt to acquire the player who plays for Newcastle.
Despite the significant offer, the first attempt to sign him was rejected by the club that held the athlete’s rights. However, Arsenal have already expressed their intention to present a revised proposal soon.
Newcastle, which will not participate in European competitions next season, demonstrates firmness in its position, resisting the release of Bruno Guimarães. He is the team captain and one of the fans’ biggest idols, with a contract running until mid-2028.
The negotiations on Arsenal’s side are led by Italian director Adriano Berta, known for his long-standing admiration for Bruno Guimarães’ football. In 2020, the director had already tried to take the midfielder to Atlético de Madrid, but ended up losing the dispute to Lyon, from France, demonstrating a persistent interest in the athlete over the years.
