Brazil finalizes preparation with all players before decisive clash against Japan in the World Cup
The complete squad of the Brazilian team held training this Saturday morning, after registering eight absences in last Friday’s activity. The expectation is that the team will maintain the formation that beat Scotland 3-0 on Wednesday.
The team’s main focus is the match against Japan, scheduled for 2pm on Monday, valid for the second phase of the World Cup, which marks the beginning of the knockout stage of the tournament.
Neymar likely to remain on the bench for the decisive clash
Based on observations from training, the most likely starting formation for Brazil includes: Alisson in goal; Danilo, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhães and Douglas Santos in defense; Casemiro, Bruno Guimarães and Lucas Paquetá in midfield; and Rayan, Matheus Cunha and Vini Jr in attack.
Young Rayan, who stood out in the previous match against Scotland, secured his place in the starting lineup due to the absence of Raphinha, who was injured, displaying a remarkable performance both in creating offensive plays and in defensive support.

During this Saturday’s training, only the opening 15 minutes were accessible to the press, and no interviews were given, as the Brazilian delegation is scheduled to travel to Houston in the afternoon, location of the next game.
Despite limited access, which prevented in-depth tactical strategies from being observed, the layout of the field offered important clues: a defensive line was set up with five players, followed by a formation of four in midfield, using dummies to simulate a compact defense, suggesting a preparation to face a Japan with a closed defensive posture. This approach indicates that the coaching staff is anticipating and training ways to penetrate defensive blocks.
The previous Friday, a significant number of the starting athletes who faced Scotland were spared for regenerative sessions. Among them were Alisson, Danilo, Marquinhos, Gabriel Magalhães, Casemiro, Bruno Guimarães, Lucas Paquetá and Matheus Cunha, while Vini Jr, Rayan and Douglas Santos normally participated in the activities with the rest of the group.
However, in training this Saturday, all players were present and moved without restrictions, with Casemiro being the first to step onto the pitch, signaling the group’s complete recovery.
The Brazilian team secured its place in the second phase of the competition with a solid performance, accumulating two impressive victories — both 3-0 against Haiti and Scotland — and a 1-1 draw in the opening match against Morocco.
