Lionel Messi’s real estate empire: discover the star’s luxury mansions and apartments spread across the world
Consecrated as one of the greatest players of all time, Lionel Messi accumulates historic achievements in football. He has already become the World Cup’s top scorer, with 18 goals to date, and the first athlete to participate in six editions of the tournament, leading Argentina to the world title in Qatar in 2022. In the 2026 World Cup, the Argentine star scored five goals, with three against Algeria and two against Austria.
In addition to his brilliance on the pitch, Messi also stands out for his vast real estate assets. With an estimated net worth of US$1.1 billion, according to Forbes, he is among the billionaire athletes. In December 2024, the player transferred a portion of his real estate assets in Spain to an investment fund on the stock exchange, valuing the portfolio made up of hotels, commercial and residential properties at US$232 million (approximately R$1.2 billion). This amount does not cover his properties in the United States and Argentina, revealing a diversification and global investment strategy that goes far beyond his sporting career.
Lionel Messi’s main residence in Castelldefels, Barcelona
For more than a decade, the mansion in Castelldefels, a coastal town near Barcelona, served as the player’s main residence. The property is valued at around US$7 million, equivalent to approximately R$36 million.
Acquired for US$2 million in 2009, the same year in which the athlete received his first Ballon d’Or, the property underwent millionaire investments in renovations and expansions. This included the purchase of neighboring land, motivated, according to the Spanish press, by the annoyance of noise among former residents.
This private complex is equipped with a gym, spa, private cinema, swimming pool, gourmet area and an exclusive football field. Its modern architecture is characterized by neutral tones and large openings that offer views of the Mediterranean Sea and the Catalan mountains.

Messi’s luxurious apartment in the Porsche Design Tower in Miami
In 2019, Messi purchased an apartment with sea views in Sunny Isles Beach for US$5 million. The 330 m² unit is located in the Porsche Design Tower, a luxury building opened in 2016 and famous for its panoramic elevator, which transports luxury cars directly to the apartments.
The property has three bedrooms, four bathrooms, a terrace that includes a private pool and spectacular views of the ocean. Residents also have access to a number of amenities such as a spa, restaurant, bar, concierge service and a racing simulator. Messi maintains the property, which was made available for rent in 2025 for US$27,000 per month, around R$141,000.
The athlete’s investments in two apartments at the Trump Royale in Miami
The Argentine player also expanded his presence in Sunny Isles Beach with the purchase of two apartments in the Trump Royale, a 55-story skyscraper. Messi’s units are located on the 40th and 43rd floors of the building. The transaction was estimated at approximately US$1.8 million, according to information from Miami Luxury Homes.

Lionel Messi’s high-end property at Regalia, in Sunny Isles Beach
A few blocks from his other properties in Miami, Messi acquired another luxury apartment, this time in the Regalia residential tower, which has 39 floors. Valued at US$7.3 million, the property has four suites, four full bathrooms and a guest toilet, natural stone finishes, a soaking tub, a climate-controlled wine cellar for a thousand bottles and a 195 m² curved terrace that wraps around the entire residence.
The condominium also offers a complete infrastructure, with six swimming pools, spa, gym and a yoga studio for residents. Although the player continues to own the unit, it was put up for sale for US$13 million, corresponding to around R$67 million.
The construction of Messi’s mansion in his hometown of Rosario, Argentina
In January 2022, the star completed the construction of a mansion in Rosario, his hometown. Notable features of the property include a private cinema, a state-of-the-art gym and a 15-vehicle garage designed for the player’s luxury car collection.
The challenges of Messi’s mansion in Ibiza, Spain
In September 2022, Messi invested around US$11.18 million in purchasing a mansion in Ibiza. However, shortly after the acquisition, it was revealed that part of the residence had been built without the necessary permissions before the sale, which made it difficult to obtain the occupancy certificate. The situation was further complicated by new external interventions, such as earthworks and the creation of terraces, which resulted in the work being halted by local authorities.
To date, there is no confirmation that all outstanding issues have been resolved. In August 2024, the property was highlighted in the news again, after being the target of an act of vandalism by climate activists.
The residence rented by Messi during his stay in Paris
During his time at Paris Saint-Germain, Lionel Messi chose to rent a house in Neuilly-sur-Seine, an upscale area on the outskirts of Paris, at a cost of approximately US$21,000 per month. Few details about the property have been released, other than its location, less than five miles from Parc des Princes. With his move to Inter Miami, it is assumed that the lease has been terminated.
Lionel Messi’s recent acquisition in Fort Lauderdale, Florida
In September 2023, Messi’s assets in the United States were expanded with the purchase of a mansion in Fort Lauderdale, for US$10.75 million. The residence, measuring approximately 975 m², offers ten bedrooms, nine bathrooms, a swimming pool, a garage for three cars and a contemporary design marked by large glass panels.
The property is situated in a gated community and has approximately 52 meters of waterfront frontage, as well as two boat docks, as reported by Forbes Middle East.
Messi’s real estate expansion with four new apartments in Miami
Messi’s real estate investments in Florida continue to grow. In April 2025, the Argentine athlete formalized the purchase of four apartments at Cipriani Residences Miami, a luxury development that is still in the construction phase, scheduled to open in 2028.
The 80-story tower will feature 397 units, starting at $1.7 million. One of the properties acquired by the player has 325 m², four bedrooms and an estimated value of US$7.5 million. Details of the other three units were not revealed.
The future development promises to offer a series of exclusive amenities to residents, including a private restaurant, a terrace with a resort concept, a full gym, a pickleball court and a dedicated cinema room.
