Orange Alert: regions of Agreste and Zona da Mata Sul of Pernambuco receive warning of heavy rain and winds of up to 100 km/h
Twenty municipalities in the interior of Pernambuco are under an orange alert for intense rain, released by the National Institute of Meteorology (Inmet). The meteorological condition, classified as “dangerous”, predicts significant volumes of precipitation and strong winds.
The warning came into effect at midnight this Saturday (27) and will remain in effect until 11:59 pm on Sunday (28), with chances of extension. The locations included in the alert cover the Agreste and Zona da Mata Sul regions of the state of Pernambuco.
Inmet’s estimate points to a rainfall volume that can vary between 30 and 60 millimeters per hour, with the possibility of reaching up to 100 millimeters over the course of a single day. Furthermore, gusts of wind can reach speeds of up to 100 km/h, a factor that amplifies the risks.

Faced with these adverse conditions, the institute warned of the likelihood of interruption in the electricity supply, falling tree branches, flooding in vulnerable areas and the danger of electrical discharges. These threats require increased attention from the population.
