New iPhone 18 Pro dummies reveal return of dark cherry color and other tonal options
Previous reports from April pointed to the inclusion of an unprecedented shade, known as “dark cherry”, for the upcoming “iPhone 18 Pro” and “iPhone 18 Pro Max” models. This color, with a tone approaching wine, would be the successor to the renowned cosmic orange, present in the “iPhones 17 Pro” and “17 Pro Max”.
Speculation about the new color was intensified recently with the release of images by Sonny Dickson, a well-known leaker. He published in X photographs of prototypes of future devices that present a high degree of realism.
In addition to the cherry hue, the prototypes reveal an “iPhone 18 Pro” in the “light blue” option, a light blue that evokes the striking sierra blue seen in the “iPhones 13 Pro” and “13 Pro Max”. This new version tends to replace the intense blue present in the current line of smartphones.

There is also the return of the black tone, which presents itself as a “dark gray”, a welcome novelty for many users. Accompanying it, the silver version remains, which is the only one of those mentioned that was already part of the “iPhone 17 Pro” series.
Observing the prototypes, it is noted that, with the exception of the new colors, the general design of the “iPhones 18 Pro” and “18 Pro Max” remains very similar to that of their predecessors. Elements such as the characteristic camera plate, implemented the previous year, and the glass detail with MagSafe magnets at the bottom are still present.
Sonny Dickson suggests that the cherry hue should be the main attraction of this new generation of “iPhones”, mirroring the great sales impact of the cosmic orange color in previous launches. The expectation is that this choice will be reflected in Apple’s marketing strategy, which traditionally focuses on the “color of the year” in its promotional campaigns.

Additional confirmation about dark cherry color in accessories
Recently, Chinese tipster Ice Universe reinforced the probability of a new shade for the “iPhone 18 Pro”. In a post on Weibo, he showed an image of a SIM card tray, showing a dark cherry color, close to burgundy.
In the same post, the leaker also responded to a user’s question about the availability of a black version for the “iPhone 18 Pro”. The response was negative, in line with previous rumors that indicated the absence of this option.
