A North Carolina man revealed he experienced premonitions of lottery success before becoming the lucky winner of $100,000 in the Powerball drawing.
Charlotte resident Erik Cargile told the North Carolina Education Lottery his positive feeling about the $3 Quick Pick ticket he purchased. The bet was made on June 10, at a Quik Trip location, located on West WT Harris Boulevard, also in Charlotte.
Cargile himself stated that he had been experiencing “visions of winning the lottery” in the days leading up to the draw.
The premonition came true the moment he checked the note. A message indicated the need to collect the prize directly at the lottery headquarters. He admitted that he did not know the exact value of the amount until he arrived at the scene.
“I imagined a value close to US$10,000,” said Cargile, expressing surprise at discovering the real size of his earnings.
Cargile’s winning ticket matched four white balls and the red ball in the Powerball draw. Initially, the value was going to be $50,000, but it doubled to $100,000 due to selecting the Power Play option, which applied a 2x multiplier to the prize.
Cargile has already revealed its plans for the prize: the intention is to use the money to purchase a house. This amount, although not a millionaire jackpot, represents significant financial leverage to make such an important dream come true.
