Microsoft Corp. is creating a new unit made up of 6,000 professionals to assist companies in the complex task of implementing artificial intelligence systems. The objective is to offer technical and strategic support in the process of adopting this technology.
The specialists who will integrate this division have extensive experience in engineering, corporate training programs, management and specific industrial segments, as communicated by the company.
The initiative, called Microsoft Frontier Company, represents an investment of US$2.5 billion. Its main goal is to promote “Frontier Transformation” through AI, combining in-depth knowledge of diverse industries, change management skills and enterprise AI engineering proficiency.
These professionals will be deployed to work directly with customers, collaborating on the design, innovation, implementation and continuous improvement of large-scale artificial intelligence solutions, always focused on achieving measurable business results.
The creation of this unit occurs in a period in which corporations have already advanced from the experimentation phase with AI, now seeking tangible results, return on investment and safeguarding their proprietary intelligence. Investing in dedicated teams reflects recognition that large-scale AI adoption requires more than just technology; it requires a deep human partnership to adapt and protect each company’s assets.
Customers are already demonstrating the positive impacts of partnerships with AI
Among the initial collaborations, the work with the London Stock Exchange Group (LSEG) stands out, where Microsoft engineers helped incorporate AI into the LSEG Workspace. This integration allows financial market professionals to formulate complex questions and obtain quick answers from structured and unstructured financial content.
Other companies such as Land O’Lakes, Unilever and Novo Nordisk were also cited as examples of success, showing that the differentiated approach already generates measurable impacts on their digital transformation trajectories.
Guaranteeing the protection of the intelligence of each business is a central point
Microsoft underscores its commitment to protecting customer intelligence, including proprietary data, intellectual property and competitive advantages. The company guarantees that no information will be used to train models in a way that could mischaracterize or “commoditize” what makes each business unique.
The developed platform is completely open, supporting a variety of models, including those from OpenAI, Anthropic, Microsoft AI, open source options or specialized systems by industry. This model avoids lock-in to a single supplier.
Experienced leadership and strategic alliances strengthen the initiative
Rodrigo Kede Lima was named president of Microsoft Frontier Company. With three decades of industry experience and six years at Microsoft itself, he has led important business transformations in the Americas and Asia regions.
The company intends to work in close synergy with its partner ecosystem, which includes companies such as Accenture, Capgemini, EY, KPMG and PwC, as well as other global integrators, to expand the operating model to different markets and segments.
