The Wimbledon courts were the scene of a remarkable meeting between two world tennis talents this Monday. Brazilian Guto Miguel, current number one in the youth rankings and top seed in the tournament, participated in training with Italian Jannik Sinner, a standout on the professional circuit.

Shortly after the session, the 17-year-old from Goiás won an important victory in the doubles, alongside Slovenian Ziga Sesko, overcoming the partnership of Czech Jakub Kuzy and Kai Thompson, from Hong Kong, by 7/6 (5) and 7/5. The organization of the English Grand Slam released records of the training session that brought together the two “number ones” in their respective categories.

Roland Garros champion’s performance at Wimbledon

Guto Miguel consolidated his position as leader of the youth rankings after his recent victory at Roland Garros. He arrived at Wimbledon as the main favorite in the junior men’s draw. On Saturday, in his debut in the singles category, he demonstrated his strength by beating the British Vincent Fletcher in two straight sets, with partials of 6/3 and 6/3. His next challenge, worth a place in the round of 16, will be this Tuesday, around 9 am (Brasília time), against the American Jack Secord.
