Renowned Welsh singer Bonnie Tyler died aged 75 on Tuesday 9 July. The news was confirmed by an official statement on her website, stating that the artist, famous for the song “Total Eclipse of the Heart”, had been hospitalized since May due to emergency intestinal surgery.
“Bonnie’s family and team are devastated to announce that she passed away unexpectedly last night, in a hospital in Portugal, as a result of the illness for which she was being treated,” detailed the official statement released.
The statement added: “We will issue a further statement soon, but for now, we ask for privacy as we deal with this tragedy.”
