FlexStrike: PlayStation wireless arcade controller starts pre-orders for PS5 and PC
Sony Interactive Entertainment has started pre-sales of FlexStrike, its first wireless arcade controller, on Mercado Livre. The accessory, compatible with PlayStation 5 and PC, was made available this Wednesday, July 8, 2026, for R$1,449.90. For those interested, the e-commerce platform offers coupons such as TECH8DO7 and CUPOMTOP, which can reduce the value of up to 15% when purchasing. The global launch of FlexStrike is scheduled for August 6, the same date that the highly anticipated game Marvel Tōkon: Fighting Souls hits the market.
Low-latency wireless connectivity and other innovations
Developed under the codename Project Defiant, FlexStrike incorporates PlayStation Link technology to ensure a low-latency wireless connection, crucial for the precision required in fighting games. In addition to the wireless connection, the controller can also be used via a USB-C cable, offering players flexibility. Its internal rechargeable battery promises an autonomy of up to 40 hours of continuous use, ensuring long gaming sessions without interruptions for recharging.

Design designed for high performance and command customization
The FlexStrike’s design has been carefully crafted to meet the demands of high-level players. The control has a customized digital lever and responsive mechanical buttons, arranged on angled surfaces that provide greater ergonomics. The non-slip base is an important detail, ensuring that the equipment remains stable during the most intense matches. One of the great innovations is the possibility of switching between different types of lever restrictors (square, circular and octagonal) without the need for tools, allowing each player to adapt the feel of the control to their preference and playing style.
Different types of restrictors offer different experiences:
- Square:This format clearly delimits the four corners, which is ideal for facilitating diagonal movements and specific commands, such as “down + forward”, common in many fighting games.
- Circular:It provides fluid and continuous movement, without the perception of stops or “corners”, ideal for players who prefer greater freedom of rotation.
- Octagonal:It creates eight well-defined positions, helping the player to clearly feel the cardinal and diagonal directions, useful for more precise execution of multiple commands.
In addition, FlexStrike includes additional features such as a touchpad, a lever mode selector and a lock button, which prevents accidental activation of controls during matches, which can be crucial in decisive moments.

Improved PlayStation 5 experience with the controller
For PlayStation 5 users, FlexStrike offers streamlined integration. A single PlayStation Link adapter is capable of connecting not just one, but two FlexStrike controllers simultaneously to the console. The adapter’s versatility goes further, allowing it to keep the fight stick and audio devices compatible with PlayStation Link technology, such as Pulse Elite or Pulse Explore headphones, connected to the PS5 at the same time, simplifying setup and the gaming experience.
Gradual PC Compatibility and Purchasing Guidelines
Although FlexStrike is promoted for use on both PS5 and computers, Sony said that PC compatibility will be released in phases after the official launch and expanded gradually. This means that users who plan to purchase the accessory primarily to play on PC should closely monitor the manufacturer’s official updates. This information is vital to avoid frustration and ensure that the control meets usage expectations on each platform. For greater convenience, the control is sold with a transport bag, which has dedicated space to protect the lever and store cables and other accessories.
