The actual date is July 27, 2026. The arrival of the long-awaited OnePlus 16, scheduled for October, promises the smartphone market a device with very thin edges and a back with an improved finish. New information about the device was shared recently, generating anticipation.

OnePlus is among the manufacturers preparing to introduce a new high-performance smartphone in the coming months. Details about the look and launch window of the OnePlus 16 have come to light through a recent leak, released by well-known tipster Digital Chat Station. These revelations give a glimpse of what can be expected from the future flagship.

OnePlus 16 appearance details and expected arrival

According to the source, the latest OnePlus 16 prototype maintains the brand’s current design language, avoiding drastic changes to its aesthetics. The device will have a 6.78-inch flat screen, characterized by extremely thin and balanced edges, an advancement possible thanks to LiPo battery encapsulation technology. Inside, the device must incorporate the next generation processor, the Snapdragon 8 Elite Gen 6 Pro, promising cutting-edge performance for the premium segment.

The back of the cell phone should retain the compact, square-shaped camera module, a feature introduced in the OnePlus 15. The informant Digital Chat Station (DCS) added that the arrival of the OnePlus 16 is scheduled for October. Asked about the battery capacity, DCS indicated that the expectation is for a robust component of approximately 9,000 mAh, a considerable size that could be a big difference in autonomy for a flagship.

In response to a question about the possible debut of the iQOO 16, identified as one of the direct competitors of the OnePlus 16, also in October, the DCS confirmed its viability. He mentioned that the launch period at the end of September is already showing high demand for new devices.

Previous publications already mentioned that the extremely thin edges of the OnePlus 16 would be less than 1 mm thick. In addition, the screen would support a refresh rate of 185 Hz. This new model should also be the company’s first device to come standard with ColorOS 17, which will be based on the Android 17 version.

The latest information indicates that the OnePlus 16’s rear camera system could get a substantial improvement, including a new 200-megapixel main camera. This sensor can be complemented by a 50-megapixel ultra-wide-angle lens and a 50-megapixel periscopic telephoto camera. The device should also offer 100W fast wired charging and 50W wireless charging.
