A resident of the state of Virginia, in the United States, won a prize of US$500,000 in an instant lottery ticket, defining his betting routine as a “daily adventure”.
According to reports made to the Virginia Lottery, the man, resident in Midlothian, maintains the habit of purchasing tickets frequently. One of those visits took him to the Styles Bi-Rite store, located on Hull Street Road, also in Midlothian.
There, he selected a “Six Figures” scratch card and, upon scratching the ticket right there in the store, discovered that he was the winner of the maximum value of half a million dollars.
The lucky winner revealed that his first move after confirming his prize was to find a quiet place to contact his son and share the exciting news.
The winner said he had no set plans for the amount, a common scenario among big prize winners who often have to deal with significant tax implications, such as federal and state taxation on lottery winnings in the United States.
