Eight teenage students were the target of fraudulent pornographic montages, known as sexual deepfakes, created by a colleague at the same school. The images were produced using photos obtained from restricted profiles on social networks, generating great disturbance among young women on August 6, 2026. Upon learning of what had happened, the group immediately sought support from the management of the educational institution.

Inspired by actress Paolla Oliveira’s public statement on the topic, one of the affected teenagers decided to reveal her own experience. She explained that her colleagues’ photographs were digitally altered using artificial intelligence, being incorporated into fake pornographic contexts. “There were photos of us that, in fact, were not real. They were artificial intelligence montages of our faces in pornographic scenarios”, declared one of the victims.

How manipulation was discovered within the school

The students immediately suspected that someone in their circle was responsible for the manipulations, as the original photos had been obtained from their private accounts. Later, the investigation confirmed that the author of the deepfakes was a colleague from the same class. “He attended the same classroom as us,” said the young woman.

The victim explained that the student maintained a close relationship with the group, attending birthday parties, exchanging loving messages and interacting constantly. This prior behavior intensified the feeling of betrayal and disorientation among the girls. “I experienced a feeling of deep anger, immense sadness. He was present on our birthdays, offered us rides and exchanged affectionate messages, such as Merry Christmas and New Year. When he needed help, we were there for him too. Therefore, I think it was a real shock for all of us”, he said.

Developments in the investigation and legal liability

The father of one of the victims, who is a lawyer, began a process of early production of evidence with the aim of identifying the creator of the images. Thanks to the data provided by the Telegram application, it was possible to locate the telephone number and IP address used in the manipulation. “Telegram made the mobile device number and IP used available. In the digital universe, everything can be tracked”, guaranteed the lawyer.

According to the lawyer, the young man responsible for the deepfakes was formally held responsible for an infraction and received a socio-educational measure, as required by legislation for minors. The seriousness of the crime highlights the need for awareness campaigns about cybercrime.

Worrying increase in cases of deepfakes in school environments

Digital security professionals warn that this incident is far from an isolated case. Information from SaferNet reveals that, in just half a year, 222 cases of teenagers being victims of sexual deepfakes were recorded in educational institutions in Brazil. Of this number, 65 incidents were concentrated in the state of São Paulo, highlighting an alarming trend.

The student involved believes that going public with her story is a vital way to encourage other victims to seek help and report it. “We supported each other. At all times, we were united”, he emphasized.
