The Brazilian mobile device market is about to gain a new strong competitor in the intermediate category. The National Telecommunications Agency (Anatel) issued, in August 2026, the approval certificate for the Tecno Pova Curve 2 5G smartphone. The equipment attracts the public’s attention by combining an 8,000 mAh energy tank, a display with curved AMOLED technology operating at 144 Hz and support for fast 45 W recharging, attributes that promise to intensify the competition for local consumers.
The legal documentation for the release of the product was carried out by the representative JM Supply Chain Management, guaranteeing official permission for sales in all regions of the country. This strategic move highlights the Asian manufacturer’s effort to consolidate its infrastructure in the national territory, seeking to expand its presence which, until now, has operated quite timidly in retail.
Even with the green light from the Brazilian regulatory body, the brand’s advisors officially informed that there is still no defined schedule for the device’s arrival on national shelves.
Observing the international scenario, the model debuted in Indian retail with a suggested price of 27,999 rupees. Converting this amount into Brazilian currency, the cost would be around R$1,490, without taking into account import taxes and local fees.
The company is part of the gigantic Transsion Holdings group, a Chinese conglomerate that dominates emerging markets and owns well-known brands such as Itel and Infinix, the latter of which is already sold in Brazil through an agreement with Positivo Tecnologia. In addition to the device focused on high autonomy, the company also achieved certification from Anatel for the Tecno Spark Go 3, aimed at the entry-level segment.
Extended autonomy and reduced thickness engineering in the new cell phone
The main difference of the equipment lies in its energy component, which delivers an impressive 8,000 mAh of capacity, a number that easily exceeds the 5,000 mAh standard found in most phones sold in the country. To ensure that the user does not spend hours at the socket, the system comes with a 45 W adapter in the box.
Finding phones with this amount of energy is a difficult task in Brazilian retail, and these devices are generally nicknamed “bricks” due to their weight. The Realme C100x is one of the rare direct competitors with the same capacity, but it has a thicker chassis of 8.6 millimeters. The Chinese manufacturer’s great engineering feat was being able to accommodate this giant cell in a profile of just 7.42 millimeters, maintaining ergonomics without sacrificing durability away from the socket.
Immersive visual quality and detailed photographic set
Moving on from the energy aspect, the front panel displays a 6.78-inch AMOLED screen, characterized by rounded edges that give the design a premium look. The fluidity of the animations is guaranteed by the 144 Hz refresh rate, combined with a Full HD+ resolution that promises vibrant colors and deep blacks.
- Rear main lens equipped with 50 megapixels and wide-angle format, boasting an aperture of f/1.8 for better light capture.
- Secondary camera dedicated to macro photography, with a 2 megapixel sensor for images of very close objects.
- 13 megapixel front sensor aimed at selfies and video calls, offering support for recording videos in Full HD resolution at 30 frames per second.
Unreleased hardware in the country focused on connectivity and processing
The electronic brain responsible for running the applications is the MediaTek Dimensity 7100, an eight-core component designed for the mid-range of the market. Built using 6 nanometer lithography and accompanied by the Mali-G610 MC2 graphics card, this silicon was revealed globally in January and will make its absolute debut in Brazil through this model, as no other brand uses it here.
Looking at the variants sold abroad, consumers can choose different levels of power for multitasking, with editions featuring 8 GB or 12 GB of RAM. The space to store files and photos also varies, offering alternatives of 128 GB or 256 GB of internal storage.
The technical sheet ends with a complete package of connections, highlighting support for 5G networks through a drawer for two Nano-SIM cards. The user will also have available the Wi-Fi 5 standard, Bluetooth version 5.4, NFC technology ideal for contactless digital payments and a biometric fingerprint sensor positioned invisibly under the display.
