Xiaomi, a Chinese technology company, confirmed the technical specifications of the Redmi Note 17 5G on August 5, 2026, just hours before its official launch. The information detailed by the manufacturer reveals a device with a long battery life and a powerful chip.

Starting with its appearance, Redmi’s new smartphone follows the aesthetic standard found in other devices from the brand. It will be available in color options like black, green and purple.

One of the main features of the Note 17 5G is its impressive 8,000 mAh battery. The brand guarantees that this capacity will be enough to provide more than three days of autonomy for users.

The device also features a 120 Hz AMOLED screen, which promises visual fluidity and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 7i, reinforcing the display’s durability.

Regarding performance, the smartphone incorporates the Qualcomm Snapdragon 4 Gen 4 platform, the same one used in its Chinese “sister” model. In terms of photography, it comes equipped with a 50 MP main camera and an 8 MP front camera.

A notable difference is the presence of native Android 16, which includes artificial intelligence features aimed at the Western market, such as Gemini, the “scroll to search” functionality and the “object eraser”.

When analyzing the technical specifications of the Note 17 5G, it is evident that it is essentially a rebranded version of the POCO M8 Power.

The only distinction between the two models lies in the final design, and it is curious that the Xiaomi group plans to sell both the Note 17 5G and the M8 Power in the Indian market.

It is likely that these same specifications will be maintained for the versions of the Note 17 5G destined for the European and Latin American markets. However, the point of greatest expected divergence is precisely the battery capacity.
