Real Madrid beats La Coruña with Vini Jr. and Endrick and wins the Teresa Herrera Trophy
Real Madrid secured the Teresa Herrera Trophy by beating La Coruña 1-0, at their opponent’s home, on August 12, 2026. The pre-season friendly, traditionally played by the Galician team, had the only goal scored by Brahim Díaz in the first half, after an individual play that began with a throw from goalkeeper Lunin.
Vinícius Júnior and Endrick started the match together in attack throughout the initial stage. While number 9 (Endrick) was substituted at half-time, Vini Jr. remained on the field until midway through the second half. The Brazilian player, who returned to the group just nine days ago, continues to look for his best physical shape for the season.

Both Brazilian athletes had already played side by side for approximately 20 minutes in another friendly match, the 2-1 victory against Ferencváros, in Hungary. On that occasion, Endrick was on the field from the beginning to the middle of the second half, and Vini Jr. came on after the break, replacing Alexis Ciria, a young player from the club’s academy.
This clash marked Real Madrid’s fifth pre-season match. The team had already achieved victories over Alcorcón (1-0) and Leganés (4-1), as well as a 2-2 draw with Fiorentina. The squad under the command of coach José Mourinho will complete its preparation by facing Schalke 04, in Germany.
Real will not participate in the opening of the Spanish Championship this period, as their game against Real Sociedad has been rescheduled for August 26th. The team’s official debut in the national competition will take place on August 22, when they will play away from home against Espanyol.
