Harry Kane is awarded European football’s Golden Boot for the second time
English striker Harry Kane, who plays for Bayern Munich, was officially awarded the Golden Boot for the 2025/26 season on August 19, 2026. The award recognizes him as the top scorer in national football leagues on the European continent, a notable achievement after scoring 36 goals in the last Bundesliga.
This is the second time Kane has won the prestigious trophy in his career, putting him among a select group of nine players to have achieved the same feat, including former Brazilian striker Mario Jardel, who shone for Porto at the start of the century. His first consecration with the Golden Boot occurred in 2023, right in his debut season with the Bayern shirt.
“I am very proud to win the European Golden Boot for the second time in my career. An award that would not have been possible without the support of my incredible teammates, coaching staff and family,” said Kane on his social platforms, expressing gratitude for the individual recognition.
Among the biggest holders of the award are Lionel Messi, with six trophies, and Cristiano Ronaldo, who has four. With Harry Kane’s second achievement, Bayern Munich now has six Golden Shoe winners, establishing itself as the second club with the most honored athletes, behind only Barcelona, who leads with eight.
Bayern Munich has August 22, 2026 scheduled for its first official match of the season, facing Borussia Dortmund away from home in the German Super Cup. Then, on August 28, 2026, the Bavarian team will host Stuttgart in the opening match of the German Championship.
