The next Galaxy S26 FE is prepared to incorporate one of the video recording features previously restricted to Samsung’s most sophisticated devices. Two videos, which supposedly show real units of the phone, indicate the presence of Horizontal Lock, a stabilization technology available on models such as the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and Galaxy S26 Ultra.

The footage shows a device finished in purple or violet tones, featuring the updated design of the Galaxy S26 line’s camera module. When opening the camera app, the Horizontal Lock option clearly appears among the functions accessible to users.

Horizontal lock improves flatness in video recordings

Horizontal Lock was initially launched with the Galaxy S26 series as an integral part of Super Steady mode. This feature combines the smartphone’s motion sensors with the image stabilization system to ensure that the horizon remains perfectly level when capturing videos.

In practice, the technology allows the user to tilt or even rotate the smartphone completely without the recorded image following the movement. On supported devices, the video orientation can remain stable even when rotated 360 degrees.

This functionality is particularly advantageous for filming in motion, such as walking, running or in situations where the cell phone is subject to sudden movements. Currently, Samsung offers this innovation on the Galaxy S26, S26 Plus and S26 Ultra models, in addition to the recently presented Galaxy Z Fold 8.

If the videos released are authentic, the Galaxy S26 FE will become the first most affordable device of the current generation to receive this important tool. This strategy aligns perfectly with the FE line proposal, which traditionally takes features from Samsung’s premium smartphones to a more competitive and broader price range, democratizing technology.

Galaxy S26 FE configurations should follow already known lines

The same videos also corroborate other specifications that had already emerged in previous leaks. The future Galaxy S26 FE should come equipped with a 120 Hz screen, a 4,900 mAh battery and the One UI 9 interface, based on Android 17.

One of the recordings also mentions the Exynos 2500 chipset, 45 W fast charging and a set of rear cameras consisting of 50 MP, 12 MP and 8 MP sensors.

Many of these features would be directly inherited from the Galaxy S25 FE. The previous model already offers a 6.7-inch AMOLED screen with 120 Hz, a 4,900 mAh battery, 45 W charging and the same camera arrangement.

The main hardware change would be the inclusion of the Exynos 2500 chipset, which would replace the Exynos 2400 used in the previous generation. Thus, software features such as Horizontal Lock may gain even more relevance as a differentiator for the Galaxy S26 FE.

Samsung has not yet made an official announcement of the device or released a date for its launch. However, the appearance of units that appear to be the final version of the product in real videos suggests that the public presentation may take place soon.
