Nintendo of America scheduled the global broadcast of The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Direct for September 8, 2026, establishing airtimes at 7 a.m. PT and 10 a.m. ET in the United States. The presentation runs for approximately 30 minutes to celebrate four decades of the video game franchise.

Digital entertainment showcases planned for the broadcast feature various themed reveals celebrating the continuous 40-year trajectory of the adventure franchise.

Ocarina of Time returns with November launch date

The company confirmed the return of The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time to introduce the classic release to a new generation of players. Nintendo scheduled the title for launch on November 5, 2026. Pre-orders began immediately.

The updated edition anchors a dedicated anniversary lineup that revisits the classic storytelling that originally shaped the history of home consoles for the brand. Nintendo distributed early product orders on a worldwide scale concurrently with the distribution of the initial promotional materials for the software.

Alongside the software rollouts, the studio announced The Legend of Zelda 40th Anniversary Concert series, assembling an international orchestral tour designed to perform the iconic musical arrangements of the franchise live on stage for audiences across different venues.

Broadcast access expands across mobile platforms and archives

Viewers can watch the live programming through the Nintendo Today! v2 mobile application on supported smartphones and smart devices. Platform access mandates an active linked Nintendo Account prior to the transmission. Streaming over cellular data networks remains subject to operator tariffs and corporate terms set by the organization.

Technical and geographic restrictions prevent the mobile application from operating in select international regions. The official website also directs audiences to the Nintendo Direct Archive catalog to review past video presentations published by the corporation.

Prior promotional materials shared on the official Nintendo of America channel registered 193,000 community interactions among its base of 10.2 million subscribers.
