Automated routing replaces manual mode selection
Previously, users had to choose whether a project belonged in chat or Cowork, which forced an entire prompt restart whenever someone wanted to switch surfaces. Friction between modes ended. The updated Claude platform identifies requirements from incoming requests to gather matching context, core skills, and system connectors immediately.
Anthropic models historically possessed operational capacity beyond what everyday subscribers leveraged because complex interfaces forced decisions about tools, outputs, and surfaces before actual task execution even started.
The engineering team at Anthropic determined that user surfaces must simplify as underlying model intelligence grows rather than requiring individuals to map work to distinct silos. Claude now reverses that workflow by assessing raw user inputs directly to determine all necessary computational steps.
Beta document and presentation tools join the platform
The update introduces Claude Docs alongside Claude Slides, while Claude Design integrates straight into active conversations. When writing texts, Claude operates as a coauthor to produce copy, raise editorial inquiries, and place inline notes for review. Users provide direct guidance throughout the drafting process.
For deck creation, Claude generates complete slide groups that users can modify directly, run as presentations inside the interface, or export as PowerPoint and PDF files under paid beta access.
The operational shift removes the need to calculate which specific tool best fits an upcoming writing assignment or complex workflow. Subscribers can enter unstructured requests into the conversation and permit Claude to assign the necessary tools.
