Logitech MX Master 4 wireless mouse introduces programmable haptic feedback, on-screen shortcut rings, and a redesigned exterior built for straightforward internal maintenance. The peripheral broadens desktop input precision while transitioning away from the soft coatings that caused wear issues on earlier hardware revisions.

Logitech designed the hardware adjustments to streamline complex daily workflows and resolve component longevity. “In today’s fast-paced and demanding world, advanced users need tools that help them redefine their workflows to deliver more in less time,” said Tolya Polyanker, general manager of the MX Business division at Logitech. “We designed MX Master 4 to bring next level immersion and speed to our users thanks to the tactile haptic feedback and instant access to their favorite tools with the Actions Ring software overlay.”

The physical layout retains a right-handed sculpted shape, but it replaces the soft rubberized exterior used on the MX Master 3S with rigid textured plastics and dense silicone to prevent surface peeling and oil absorption over extended use. This sturdier construction increases the overall weight of the mouse to 150 grams, compared to 141 grams on the previous edition. Logitech kept the Darkfield optical sensor with an 8,000 DPI ceiling, enabling tracking across clear glass and standard desk mats, alongside Quiet Clicks switches engineered to suppress 90 percent of acoustic clicking noise.

Internal vibration motors deliver customizable tactile impulses managed through the Logi Options+ desktop software. Users receive physical pulses when toggling screens, navigating documents, or operating specific tools in connected productivity suites.

Actions Ring overlay and triple thumb buttons streamline workflows

Navigation controls along the left flank now include three thumb buttons instead of two, expanding immediate macro inputs. The lower gesture pad operates both when pushed downward and when pressed inward toward the main body, avoiding the stiff downward motion found on the predecessor.

Activating this lower trigger opens the Actions Ring, a circular visual overlay centered around the cursor that provides instant shortcuts for applications such as Photoshop, Lightroom, and Excel. According to internal performance data from the manufacturer, utilizing the Actions Ring interface can yield a 63 percent decrease in repetitive hand motions and save up to 33 percent in execution time during routine digital tasks.

Exposed chassis screws and simplified battery replacement

Hardware longevity marks one of the most substantial updates in the chassis engineering, moving away from sealed enclosures that required damaging adhesive glide pads to reach interior components. Technicians and owners can access assembly screws directly on the underside base plate, opening the casing to exchange the internal rechargeable battery once chemical capacity degrades after years of continuous cycling. The manufacturer estimates normal operation at up to 70 days on a complete charge, while an emergency one-minute connection through the USB-C port provides three hours of power.

Dual connectivity operates via Bluetooth Low Energy or the included Logi Bolt USB-C wireless receiver. The bottom pairing switch links the peripheral to three distinct computers across macOS and Windows installations.
