How the Atlanta Falcons enter the game

Led by head coach Kevin Stefanski, the Atlanta Falcons rely on starting quarterback Michael Penix Jr. and starting running back Bijan Robinson, who has totaled 641 rushing yards and 4 touchdowns across six games in the 2026 season, averaging 5.8 yards per carry. Other active key players on the roster include wide receivers Drake London and Jahan Dotson, tight end Kyle Pitts Sr., and safety Jessie Bates III.

On the Saturday (24) prior to kickoff, the club activated starting cornerback A.J. Terrell from Injured Reserve (the league’s official list for sidelined players) after a four-week absence due to a groin injury, clearing him to play. The front office also signed defensive end Drake Jackson to the active roster and elevated running back Khalil Herbert and linebacker Brian Asamoah from the practice squad. Earlier in the week, on Tuesday (20), Atlanta released its depth chart featuring newly signed veteran backup quarterback Andy Dalton after waiving Cooper Rush on the Monday prior to the game.

Speaking about general manager Ian Cunningham and the quarterback transaction, Stefanski explained the move: “I just think Ian (Cunningham) is always looking at ways that we feel like we can add to the roster and Andy (Dalton) was available. So, as simple as that. Obviously, I think the world of Cooper Rush. Really, really, really, really like the person, so disappointed for Coop in that regard. But excited about the opportunity to add Andy.”

Regarding absences, the Atlanta Falcons have ruled out six injured players: offensive tackle Michael Jerrell (placed on Injured Reserve with a biceps injury), inside linebacker Divine Deablo, defensive back Billy Bowman Jr., running back Brian Robinson (hamstring), wide receiver Beaux Collins (hip, on Injured Reserve), and offensive tackle Cameron Williams (ankle, on Injured Reserve). According to the Sunday report, wide receiver Olamide Zaccheaus (shoulder, listed as questionable) is not expected to play, defensive back Avieon Terrell (back/illness) remains questionable, and defenders Za’Darius Smith (neck) and Gervon Dexter (hamstring) are expected to take the field.

How the San Francisco 49ers enter the game

Head coach Kyle Shanahan commands an undefeated San Francisco 49ers squad led on the field by starting quarterback Brock Purdy and starting running back Christian McCaffrey. Tight end George Kittle and defensive lineman Mykel Williams also headline the active lineup for the visitors.

San Francisco bolstered its receiving corps on Saturday (24) by activating wide receiver Christian Kirk from Injured Reserve and removing his injury designation for the game. Offensive coordinator Klay Kubiak praised the player’s preparation during the week: “He looks good. We got him back into practice last week and you can see him getting better this week for sure. He’s a guy who’s been preparing mentally, so it’s been impressive to see him step in and just be really sharp on the details.”

In the final practice report released on Friday (23), Shanahan confirmed six injury absences for the trip to Atlanta: wide receiver Mike Evans (ribs/Achilles), wide receiver Deebo Samuel Sr. (hamstring), defensive lineman Nick Bosa (knee/calf), linebacker Luke Gifford (groin), safety Marques Sigle (ankle), and linebacker Garret Wallow (hamstring). Additionally, defenders Siran Neal (knee) and Upton Stout (shoulder) are listed as questionable.
