Gianluca Soncin, 52, killed his partner Pamela Genini, 29, with 24 knife stabs on the night of Tuesday, October 14, in an apartment in the Gorla neighborhood, northern Milan. The crime occurred on the terrace of the property, where the victim lived alone since 2023. Police arrived after neighbors reported screams but found Genini already dead. Soncin, originally from Biella and residing in Cervia, was arrested in the act for aggravated voluntary homicide with premeditation and stalking.
The couple’s relationship, lasting about a year, was marked by frequent arguments. Genini intended to end the relationship, triggering the fatal confrontation. Before the attack, she called an ex-boyfriend for help, describing Soncin as violent. The perpetrator carried a hunting knife, acquired beforehand, and had copied the victim’s apartment keys.
Neighbors reported prior disputes in the building.

- Police sealed off the area within minutes to preserve the scene.
- The property, at Residenze Iglesias 33, was placed under judicial seizure.
Soncin stabbed himself in the throat twice upon seeing the police but survived and is hospitalized at Niguarda under custody.
