The clash is part of November’s FIFA Date, Brazil’s last official commitment in 2025. After Senegal, the team will face Tunisia on the 18th, in Lille, France.
News in the Brazilian call-up
Vitor Roque, Palmeiras striker, receives his first opportunity in the main team. The 20-year-old impressed in the last few Brasileirão matches with decisive goals.
Luciano Juba, Bahia’s right-back, also debuts in the group. His defensive versatility caught Ancelotti’s attention during national games.
Other names such as Matheus Cunha, from Wolverhampton, reinforce the attack. Cunha highlighted the importance of demonstrating the team’s potential in recent statements.
The complete list includes 26 players, with a focus on athletes active in Europe to facilitate logistics.
Unfavorable outlook for Brazil
The teams have faced each other twice in friendlies since 2019, without Brazilian victories. In 2023, Senegal won 4-2 in Lisbon, with goals from Mané and company.
The first meeting ended in a 1-1 draw, in 2019, in the United States. Brazil scored three goals in total, while the opponent scored five.
These results show the African defensive organization against the Brazilian attack. Ancelotti plans to exploit gaps with quick transitions. The history reinforces the need for total focus to break the taboo this Saturday.
Tactical strategies in focus
Ancelotti adopts a 4-3-3 formation to balance possession and counterattacks. Training emphasized high marking against Senegalese pressure.
Senegal, in turn, bets on compact lines and fast exits. Thiaw adjusted the midfield to neutralize creators like Bruno Guimarães.
Factors such as the Emirates pitch and the cold November weather influence choices. Both teams avoid injuries by rotating starters. The game serves as an evaluation for the next World Cup cycles.
