CCTV’s traditional Gala of Festival of Primavera, held on February 16, established itself as a global showcase of innovation by bringing together 1.4 billion viewers to celebrate Ano of Cavalo. This year’s event exceeded expectations by integrating presentations of high technical complexity, highlighting the participation of humanoid robots from Unitree Robotics who performed martial arts choreographies alongside human kung fu masters. Além of the physical performance, the broadcast used generative artificial intelligence platforms, such as ByteDance’s Doubao, to create an immersive and interactive experience in real time with the connected audience.
The volume of data processed during transmission reached record levels, demonstrating the robustness of China’s digital infrastructure and the massive engagement of the population. ByteDance reported impressive numbers the day after the event, confirming the scale of the operation:
– Mais of 1.9 billion interactions recorded on the platform during the festival;
– Criação of 100 million personalized greetings and 50 million images;
– Processamento of 63.3 billion tokens per minute at peak traffic.
Mechanical precision and processing capacity
The kung fu demonstration by the Unitree robots not only served as entertainment, but as a proof of concept on the stability and balance control of these fast-moving machines. The fluid interaction between human practitioners and androids highlighted progress in applied physics algorithms, maintaining precision even in sequences designed to test the limits of hardware and create impactful visual contrast.
Alongside the visual spectacle, the Doubao tool allowed users to generate digital red packets and festive images instantly. The ability to process simultaneous requests from millions of users without noticeable glitches has reinforced the maturity of consumer-facing AI solutions, integrating technology naturally into cultural celebration.
Government initiative accelerates development
The leading role of technology at the event reflects the results of the AI Plus initiative, launched by the Chinese government in August 2025. The program has directed substantial investments towards humanoid robotics and the industrial application of intelligent systems, seeking to expand these innovations beyond the entertainment sector and promote efficiency in various segments of the economy.
Industry-leading companies, including Unitree and ByteDance, align their strategies with this national plan, combining advanced research with practical implementation. The objective is to consolidate the country’s position as a reference in emerging technologies, using mass events as a testing ground for new functionalities and infrastructures.
Regulation and control of digital content
Technological advancement is accompanied by a rigorous legal framework, in force since September 2025, which requires clear labeling of any content generated by artificial intelligence. Administração of Ciberespaço of China has intensified supervision to ensure that digital platforms comply with transparency standards, especially during periods of high data traffic.
Authorities remain focused on mitigating risks associated with deepfakes and the spread of false information, applying penalties to accounts that violate established guidelines. Ongoing oversight aims to balance technical progress with ethical governance and protecting users’ privacy, ensuring a safe digital environment for innovation.
