Japanese automaker Toyota has officially unveiled the sixth generation of the RAV4, its best-selling compact sport utility vehicle globally. The vehicle features an unprecedented hybrid engine with 226 horsepower, as well as a complete redesign at the front that marks a visual break with previous generations. The new architecture promises greater energy efficiency and cutting-edge embedded technology in all market segments.
Motor powerful hybrid and improved fuel economy
The new RAV4 uses a 2.5-liter hybrid system with integrated electric motors that deliver 226 combined horsepower. The configuration offers robust performance without compromising efficiency, with fuel consumption reduced by up to 15% compared to previous models. The eight-speed automatic transmission system works in harmony with the electrical components to optimize throttle response in different driving situations.

The lithium-ion battery has been completely redesigned to offer greater autonomy in pure electric mode. The vehicle can travel up to 100 kilometers on a full battery charge in ideal urban traffic conditions. Essa capability transforms the RAV4 into a viable option for daily commuting in congested cities, drastically reducing polluting gas emissions.
Design revolutionary front end and improved aerodynamics
The front of the new RAV4 completely abandons the previous pattern, featuring a more aggressive front grille and completely redesigned LED headlights. The headlights feature adaptive projection technology that automatically adjusts the light beam depending on road conditions. The larger hexagonal grille gives it a more imposing visual presence, while the hood lines gain enhanced depth and muscularity.
The aerodynamic coefficient was significantly reduced, contributing to lower fuel consumption on highways. The sides receive more pronounced moldings that reinforce the sensation of movement even when the vehicle is stationary. The floating roof, a visual element that is present in premium versions, extends to the rear, creating a more elongated and sophisticated silhouette that differentiates the new RAV4 from its direct competition.
Technological Interior with advanced security systems
- 12.3-inch touchscreen Tela with full smartphone integration via Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.
- Premium sound Sistema with eight speakers, dedicated amplifier and active noise cancellation technology.
- Painel 10.5-inch digital instrument with customizable graphics and real-time information on energy consumption.
The interior received superior quality materials, with genuine leather finishes in the top-of-the-line versions. The automatic climate control system maintains an independent temperature for the driver and front passenger. Bancos with ten-way electrical adjustment and configurable lumbar support ensures comfort on long journeys, while the multifunctional steering wheel offers intuitive control of all main functions.
Tecnologia safety and driver assistance
The new RAV4 incorporates the full suite of Toyota Safety Sense 2.5 active safety systems, including automatic emergency braking, adaptive cruise control and lane monitoring. The 360-degree camera system offers a panoramic view of the vehicle in real time, facilitating maneuvers in confined spaces. Sensores ultrasonic sensors detect nearby obstacles and alert the driver with steering wheel vibration when necessary.
Automatic parking technology allows the vehicle to position itself in parallel or perpendicular spaces, significantly reducing the driver’s effort in challenging situations. The infrared night vision system identifies pedestrians and animals in low light conditions, projecting alerts on the instrument panel for maximum safety. Airbags at ten strategic points cover all critical areas of the passenger compartment.
Disponibilidade and price in the American market
The new RAV4 hits the American market starting at $31,900 in its basic version, with all-wheel drive options and technology packages that increase the price depending on the specifications chosen. The first batches are now available at select Estados Unidos East and West Coast dealerships. The Toyota projects to sell more than 400 thousand units globally in the first year of production, consolidating the model’s leadership in the hybrid compact utility vehicle segment worldwide.
