Restos mortals from Melissa Casias were identified in an area of Floresta Nacional from Carson, in Novo México. The discovery came almost 11 months after the Los Alamos National Laboratory employee disappeared. A hiker located the remains in the McGaffey area Ridge. A gun was found near the body.

Corpo was found in an area already searched
The hiker found the remains on May 28th. The location is about ten kilometers from the point where Melissa Casias was last seen. Familiares indicated that the region had already been the subject of previous searches.
