Jurgen Klopp used social media to joke with fans and reinforce what was already defined: he will be at the 2026 World Cup as a commentator. The former Liverpool manager published a video with a relaxed tone, asking “Guess where I’m going?” and then responding that the destination is the World Cup.

The post, made this Monday (8), serves as a reminder of an agreement announced in November 2025. Klopp signed with Magenta TV, a streaming platform that holds the broadcasting rights in Germany for all 104 games of the tournament, which will be played in the United States, Mexico and Canada.

The German is part of a strong team assembled by the broadcaster. Alongside him will be former players Thomas Müller and Mats Hummels, as well as names like Johannes B. Kerner and Wolff Fuss. The idea is to offer in-depth analyzes with those who have experienced high-level football from the inside.

Klopp already has experience in broadcasting. He worked as a commentator at the 2006 World Cup and the 2008 Euro Cup for ZDF, a German public broadcaster. Now, after leaving Liverpool in 2024 and taking on the role of global football director at Red Bull, his return to the screen marks a new phase away from the bench.

The World Cup starts on June 11, 2026. Magenta TV plans special coverage, with studios in New York and Munich, and a special focus on the games of the German team, which is in Group A along with Ecuador, Ivory Coast and Curaçao. Klopp must actively participate in analysis, especially Mannschaft clashes.

For fans, Klopp’s presence means access to tactical and emotional insights from one of the most charismatic coaches of the last decade. His direct and passionate style often yields striking comments, which should enrich the experience of anyone who follows him on the German platform.
