Samsung today released the software update containing the June 2026 package, which reaches the Galaxy S25, Galaxy Z Fold 7, Flip 7 lines and the new TriFold model. This release brings innovations that go beyond the usual security fixes.

The relevance of this package lies in the inclusion of two artificial intelligence features coming from the Galaxy S26, which were not present on the devices when One UI 8.5 was originally released.

Exploring the New Features for Notifications

Among the most notable features is “Notification Highlights”, a tool that empowers users to prioritize important alerts and generate concise summaries of incoming notifications. This significantly simplifies the management of essential information, eliminating the need to open each application individually.

Additionally, the Galaxy S25 series now has the ability to “File Summaries”, directly integrated into the My Files app. This innovation uses artificial intelligence to produce quick summaries of PDF documents, texts and audio recordings, facilitating the assimilation of extensive content.

Despite these significant advances, Samsung, however, has not yet extended other important features of One UI 8.5 to the Galaxy S25 lines and foldable models. “Now Nudge”, 24 MP camera capture mode and “Horizontal Lock” remain absent, leaving a gap in the complete user experience.

Another issue that has raised questions is the continued lack of technology to improve fingerprint accuracy. Although this functionality was made available for the Galaxy S25 FE last month, it has not yet been implemented on the main S25 flagships or the Z Fold 7 with this new update.

So far, the South Korean company has not publicly commented on plans to incorporate the pending features in future One UI 8.5 updates or whether the inclusion will be postponed to the One UI 9 version, scheduled to be released in conjunction with Android 17.
