Marvel fans wonder if the continuity of the popular animation *X-Men ’97* could delay the long-awaited reboot of the mutant team on the big screen. This issue gained prominence given the expectation of several seasons for the series.

Marvel Studios’ head of TV and comics, Brad Winderbaum, recently participated in the Tribeca Film Festival and denied the possibility that the animated program would somehow impact the film version’s schedule, reinforcing that the projects could continue in parallel.

Winderbaum emphasized the viability of coexistence, citing the example of Spider-Man, which has several active adaptations simultaneously, such as the Aranhaverso films, the series *Your Friend in the Neighborhood* and live-action productions. Marvel Studios’ strategy for characters like the X-Men is to allow different versions to reach varied audiences across multiple platforms, ensuring a constant flow of content and keeping the franchise relevant without one project having to wait for the other to finish. He categorically stated that both the series and the film can be shown at the same time.

The next reinterpretation of mutants for the Marvel cinematic universe, which was announced at the end of 2023, is in the development phase. The scripts are being worked on by Lee Sung Jin and Joana Calo.

Jake Schreier, known for directing *Thunderbolts* (scheduled for 2025), has already been confirmed as responsible for directing the new X-Men film. Discussions for the formation of the next cast of superheroes are already underway, seeking new talent for the iconic characters.

The arrival of the X-Men film in the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) is scheduled to take place from 2028. This premiere will take place after the conclusion of the current Multiverse Saga, which promises to bring an important “reset” to the franchise after the events that will unfold.

Meanwhile, *X-Men ’97* continues to be in full swing, with the fourth season already in development for the streaming service. The second season of the acclaimed series returns to Disney+ on July 1st.
