The Telegram platform has advanced in its wearable devices strategy, now confirming its official return to smartwatches equipped with the WearOS operating system, developed by Google. This move comes shortly after the messenger announced its return to the Apple Watch last Tuesday, the 9th.
The application has been absent from the Play Store since 2021, after an unexpected withdrawal that impacted users. With its return to smart watches, Telegram guarantees complete compatibility with the service’s functionalities, allowing conversations to be accessed in full directly from the user’s wrist.
As communicated by the company itself, the new version of the application enables users to view multimedia content, such as photographs, video files and even sent location previews. Furthermore, the program offers full support for voice messages, enabling both playback and recording of audio directly from the smartwatch, and the use of stickers.
Additional chat management features have been integrated, giving users the ability to pin, mute notifications, or delete conversations directly from the screen of their smart device.
This successful return to Apple and Google wrist devices is part of a series of recent app updates. Among them, we highlight an innovative text editor based on artificial intelligence, the inclusion of new options for interactive polls and an extra layer of security to prevent leaks in private conversations.
