The company Huawei recently presented, in May, the fifth generation of its line of HUAWEI WATCH FIT smartwatches, bringing two new models to the market. The launches include the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 and the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Pro, expanding options for consumers interested in wearable technology.

The HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Pro, positioned as the high-end device, comes with a starting cost of 33,980 yen, including taxes. In contrast, the standard version, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5, is offered from 27,280 yen. Both smartwatches are initially available with a fluoroelastomer strap, but Huawei also offers more sophisticated versions that include nylon straps, allowing for greater customization; the price difference reflects a strategic positioning of the brand to serve different groups of consumers.

Size and material variations in new models

Both the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 and the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Pro are smartwatch models that share the characteristic of square screens, and their basic specifications have many similarities. However, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Pro, positioned in the top category, sports a 1.92-inch display with a peak brightness of 3000 nits. Despite this, the standard version, HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5, also has a robust 1.82-inch screen and a maximum brightness of 2500 nits, which suggests that the visual difference for the average user is not drastically noticeable. Additionally, construction materials differ between devices: the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 Pro uses an aluminum alloy for the central body, complemented by a titanium alloy frame and a 2.5D sapphire glass screen protection. In contrast, the HUAWEI WATCH FIT 5 employs only aluminum alloy, with no specific mention of the type of cover glass in its specifications. Both devices are water resistant to 5 ATM and IP6X certified. However, it is worth noting that only the Pro model complies with the EN13319 standard, making it suitable for free diving to a depth of up to 40 meters, a feature that expands its functionalities for a more demanding niche of users.
