A video showing journalist Andrea Guerrero during a live broadcast of a Colombian national team match is causing great repercussion. The images made the reporter one of the most discussed topics on social media, raising questions about alleged drunkenness.
At another time, FIFA announced the first team that guaranteed a place in the round of 32 of the World Cup, and Colombia ended up receiving a penalty in the competition.
FIFA published its first publication with the image of Andrea Guerrero, after rumors emerged that the journalist could have been suspended for covering the clash between Colombia and Uzbekistan.
The Colombian team was warming up at the Azteca Stadium, in Mexico City, preparing for their debut at the 2026 World Cup. In this context, presenter Andrea Guerrero appeared in a live broadcast on the RCN channel, and her stance generated discussions: was she under the influence of alcohol or in a state of euphoria?
The situation gained greater repercussion due to a precedent from 2014, when, during the World Cup in Brazil, the same journalist was the target of similar accusations on social media in an edition of the program “Noticias RCN”. This recurrence caused reactions on X (formerly Twitter) to quickly multiply regarding Guerrero’s behavior before the game between Colombia and Uzbekistan.
During the Colombian National Team athletes’ warm-up, Andrea Guerrero and teammate Ricardo Henao walked across the Azteca Stadium lawn. Both made a brief stop to greet goalkeeper David Ospina, and then left the field calmly.
“I feel like I’m at my first World Cup,” Guerrero told Ricardo Henao. Immediately, X was taken over by comments. Many questioned the journalist’s condition, with messages such as: “Andrea Guerrero, are you drunk again on the broadcast?” Other users expressed a peculiar attraction: “I don’t know if it’s right, but I like Andrea Guerrero a little changed.” There were also those who showed great appreciation for her personality: “I love Andrea Guerrero, I’ve always been attracted to women with that ‘problematic’ look.” And some observations were more dramatic: “I’ve seen Andrea in an alcoholic state on TV more times than some close relatives” and “Andrea Guerrero seemed more drunk than on the day of Cúcuta’s rise.”
