A significant change in the weather is forecast for this Saturday, the 20th, when a rain front will move towards the north of Japan. This movement will cause precipitation to spread widely from the west to the east of the country, requiring attention from the population due to the risk of isolated strong showers.
Forecasts indicate a day on Saturday with widespread precipitation across a wide range of territory, covering regions from the far west to eastern Japan.
During Saturday morning, the rainy front will originate in the Sea of Japan, crossing the western portion of the territory and reaching the coastal strip of the Kanto region. At the same time, a current of hot and humid air is expected to blow intensely from the southwest, contributing to the expansion of rainfall. This climatic condition will lead to precipitation from western Japan to the eastern and southern regions of Tohoku.
The formation of heavy clouds is a high probability, concentrated both around the front and in points where winds coming from the southwest collide with mountainous terrain. In these areas, the danger of intense and localized rainfall, exceeding 30 millimeters per hour, is considerable, which can cause severe disruption and rapid accumulation of water.
The intensity of the rain is expected to increase in the Kyushu region on Saturday morning, extending to other locations in western Japan throughout the afternoon, with particular attention to mountainous areas. Because of this, the recommendation is to exercise maximum caution with possible flooding on roads and low-lying areas.
