A shooting incident in a town in Montreal, Canada, resulted in three deaths last Monday, the 22nd. Among the fatal victims are a member of the police force, an ordinary citizen and the individual himself identified as responsible for the attack, who was neutralized during the intervention of the security forces.
The local police reported that a second officer was injured and remains in a delicate health situation. The Montreal City Police Service (SPVM) announced that it received the initial call at around 11:35 am local time, warning of the presence of gunshots in that area.
When the teams arrived at the scene, the officers were attacked with gunfire. At around 1:45 pm, the corporation confirmed the death of one of its members who was on duty. Additionally, a civilian individual struck by gunfire did not survive. The attacker, suspected of the attack, was hit and died at the scene during the police operation to contain the situation.
