With a month to go until the official launch, new information about the long-awaited Galaxy Watch 9 and Ultra 2 was released by sources linked to Samsung. Leaks indicate that the Galaxy Watch 9 will maintain a recognizable style with discreet improvements, while the Ultra 2 will undergo significant structural changes to correct weaknesses in the previous version, now featuring a more rectangular shape and considerably thinner edges.
Among the aesthetic transformations noted in the Ultra 2, the inclusion of a number on the dial that refers to Classic line watches, refinements to the side buttons and an orange detail that surrounds the quick shortcut button stand out.
Images illustrating the design of these new watches were discovered in the One UI 9 interface code, confirming the reports.
Regarding color options, the South Korean giant intends to make the devices available in three shades: black, silver and beige, with the beige color reserved exclusively for the entry-level model.
The bracelets that accompany each version will also have particularities; The black watch will come with a bluish bracelet, and the silver version will be complemented by a green bracelet.
Furthermore, previous rumors have been confirmed: there will be no Classic version of the Galaxy Watch released this year.
Regarding the software, anticipations point to a more polished graphical interface, with a remodeled icon for the compass function and the ability to monitor sinus rhythm.
One of the most anticipated aspects that stands out as a major differentiator of this new generation is the battery life, especially for the Galaxy Watch Ultra model.
The Ultra device is expected to have a battery with a capacity 35% greater than that of its predecessor, launched in 2024, and approximately 34% greater than that present in the Apple Watch Ultra. This significant improvement in battery life meets a crucial demand from smartwatch users, who are looking for devices with greater longevity for daily use, offering important value to the consumer experience.
Samsung, however, should only address all these details officially in its presentation scheduled for July 22, an event that will also serve as the stage for the launch of the brand’s new foldable smartphones and One UI 9, built on Android 17.
