Toyota confirmed this Tuesday (23) the arrival of its first 100% electric vehicle to the Brazilian market, the bZ4X. The SUV, which is now part of the brand’s portfolio in the country, is powered by two engines that combine a power of 343 horsepower.

This launch has a suggested value of R$419,990 and offers an estimated range of up to 361 km, according to Inmetro tests.

The model comes equipped with a series of comfort and technology features, including a 14-inch multimedia center with integrated navigation, a JBL sound system with six speakers and amplifier, as well as wireless connectivity for Apple CarPlay and wired connectivity for Android Auto.

  • Pre-collision assistance capable of identifying pedestrians, cyclists and motorcyclists, with automatic emergency braking;
  • Lane departure alert, accompanied by vehicle centering assistant;
  • Adaptive high beam for optimizing lighting in different conditions;
  • Safe exit assistant, which monitors approaching vehicles when opening doors;
  • Adaptive cruise control, which adjusts speed according to traffic.

The vehicle is equipped with a total of eight airbags, two front, one for the driver’s knees, two front side airbags, two curtain airbags and one positioned between the front seats.

The safety system is complemented by electronic traction and stability controls, with trailer sway assistance, a camera with 360-degree vision, parking sensors at both the front and rear, an autonomous parking assistant and an electrochromic interior rear-view mirror with anti-glare function.

Details about bZ4X performance

The bZ4X’s propulsion system consists of two electric motors, each on one axle, ensuring all-wheel drive (AWD). This configuration is managed by X-MODE technology, which offers driving modes adapted to different low-grip surfaces, such as snow, dirt and mud.

The combined power of the engines reaches 343 horsepower, accompanied by a torque of 27.4 kgfm on the front axle and 17.3 kgfm on the rear axle.

The liquid-cooled lithium-ion battery has a total capacity of 73.1 kWh. The SUV is built on the global e-TNGA platform, designed specifically for electric vehicles.

According to data approved by Inmetro, through the Brazilian Vehicle Labeling Program (PBEV), the maximum autonomy of the bZ4X is 361 km.

Value of the bZ4X compares to luxury models, with exclusivity on offer

The Toyota bZ4X will be sold for R$419,990 and will be available in dealerships from the end of June, in an exclusive initial batch of just 99 units. This value places it in a price range generally associated with luxury vehicles, highlighting Toyota’s strategy of introducing the model as a premium and limited option in its debut in the electric market in Brazil.

The factory warranty for the vehicle is five years. The automaker offers the possibility of extending this coverage for up to 10 years, through a warranty extension program.

Activation of the extension benefit occurs automatically after the fifth year, subject to the completion of scheduled reviews in the authorized network. Extended coverage is renewed every 12 months or 10,000 km, whichever comes first.

The extended coverage limits are 200,000 km for vehicles for private use and 100,000 km for those intended for commercial use.
