Thomas Tuchel, coach of the England team, expressed his dissatisfaction with the hydration interruptions implemented by FIFA during the current World Cup. The coach argues that these stoppages, which occur in both halves of the match, change the rhythm and the very essence of the game.

He explained that the pauses harm the continuity of the confrontation, stating: “I think it interrupts and changes the identity of a football match.” Tuchel recalled that, in previous editions, water breaks were shorter and limited to extreme heat conditions.

The England commander also added that the match seems to be divided into “four quarters”, changing the dynamics more significantly than he imagined. As a coach, he prefers a continuous game experience without so many interruptions.

The English coach had already requested adjustments to the position of photographers

This is not the first time that Thomas Tuchel has publicly expressed criticism of the organization of the tournament. Previously, the coach had complained about the positioning of photographers during the playing of the national anthems. This type of statement from coaches about the logistical aspects of major events has become more common, reflecting the increasing attention to the details of the on-field experience.

At the time, he claimed that the large number of professionals in front of the bench prevented him from properly viewing his athletes during that solemn moment.

Following Tuchel’s complaint, FIFA took action and made changes to the distribution of photographers in stadiums, seeking to avoid similar problems and ensure that coaches have an unobstructed view of the pitch.
