Brazilian citizens can check the status of the second batch of Personal Income Tax (IRPF) refunds for the 2026 financial year from this Tuesday (23rd). The municipality announced that the amounts credited to bank accounts will be released on June 30th.

How to access data from the second batch of the refund

Since 9 am, refund verification is available on the Federal Revenue electronic portal. Taxpayers must look for the “My Income Tax” section and then select the “Consult my refund” option. A practical alternative is to use the agency’s official application, available for mobile devices such as tablets and smartphones.

Financial amount and number of beneficiaries reach historic record

This batch represents a volume of R$16 billion in credits, benefiting 9,585,797 taxpayers, which makes it the largest ever recorded in terms of number of people covered. This amount, identical to the amount distributed in the first batch of refunds released on May 29, reflects the efficiency of the declaration processes and the growing adoption of digital modalities, such as pre-filled and PIX, which speed up the analysis of tax data.

Priority criteria in the distribution of IRPF amounts

A significant portion, more than R$4.4 billion of the total, will be directed to taxpayers who have a priority defined by law, as detailed below:

  • Taxpayers over 80 years old: 155,060 refunds;
  • Elderly people aged 60 to 79 years: 1,106,923 refunds;
  • Individuals with physical or mental disabilities, or those with a serious illness: 106,294 refunds;
  • Professionals whose main source of income comes from teaching: 507,768 refunds.

Additionally, 7,709,752 refunds will cover taxpayers who, despite not meeting the legal priority criteria, chose to submit a pre-filled declaration or chose PIX as a method to receive the refund.
