The capital of São Paulo is preparing for Wednesday, June 24th, with cloudy weather and persistent rain, according to forecasts. Thermometers must indicate a minimum temperature of 12°C and the maximum temperature will not exceed 14°C. The combination of this reduced daily temperature variation with the presence of a mass of cold air of polar origin will intensify the feeling of cold throughout the day, making it quite harsh for residents.

Weather instability and precipitation will continue during Thursday, June 25, although with a decrease in water volume. This will be another period characterized by a small temperature range, with the maximum expected for the day reaching just 15°C, keeping the weather cool.

First days of winter 2026 bring intense cold and precipitation

The winter period in 2026 began last Sunday, the 21st, and meteorological projections indicate that the first seven days of the season will be marked by a combination of rain and significantly lower temperatures. These climatic conditions cover wide areas of the South, Southeast, Central-West and even parts of the North of the country.

The intensification of atmospheric cooling is directly attributed to the movement of a large air mass of polar origin that moves across the territory. Given this scenario, there is a likelihood of snow occurring in southern states, such as Santa Catarina and Rio Grande do Sul. Additionally, there are expectations of frost formation in some locations in Mato Grosso do Sul and also in the state of São Paulo.

The beginning of the coldest season of the year is also characterized by a rainfall regime. In the Southeast and Central-West regions, the probability of rain remains high, especially until Thursday. There is a possibility that these precipitations will be of moderate to heavy intensity, accompanied by electrical discharges.
