Coach Carlo Ancelotti expressed his expectation of improvement for the Brazilian team in the clash against Scotland, during a press conference held this Tuesday (23), in Miami. The coach was satisfied with the performance in the first half of the 3-0 victory over Haiti, but reiterated his desire to see the team with more “intensity and success”, minimizing ball losses.
Ancelotti emphasized the importance of the team showing continuous progress in each match. He stressed that a consistent performance in the next game would position Brazil favorably for the knockout phase of the World Cup. The coach also highlighted the need to replicate the intensity and precision seen in the first stage against Haiti, avoiding mistakes and ball deliveries. “The team shows progress in training, and I trust that we will continue to improve our performance”, said the commander, on the eve of the duel.
For Ancelotti, mastering the actions on the field will be crucial to victory, with a special focus on the quality of the midfield and the efficiency of passing the ball. He highlighted the valuable experience and skill of players like Paquetá and Casemiro in this sector, a pillar of his tactical philosophy that has proven successful in several European clubs. The Italian coach expressed satisfaction with the composition of the squad, which, despite its diverse characteristics, shows increasing adaptation to the proposed style of play.
After a 1-1 draw with Morocco in the opening match, the Brazilian team presented a superior performance in the clash against Haiti. The victory guaranteed Brazil the leadership of Group C, adding four points, the same score as the Moroccans. The Africans, in turn, will play against Haiti simultaneously with the clash between Brazil and Scotland.
Although there are great expectations regarding the outcome of the game between Morocco and Haiti, Ancelotti made it clear that the Seleção’s priority will be to deliver the best possible performance against Scotland. He praised the opponent, describing them as a well-organized team that also aspires to the top positions in Group C. “We will not be distracted by the result in Morocco; our focus is exclusively on our own performance. Scotland will be a bigger challenge than Haiti, and it is on them that we focus our attention”, said the coach.
The clash between Brazil and Scotland will take place this Wednesday (24), at 7pm (Brasília time). The match, valid for the third and final round of the World Cup group stage, will be played at the Hard Rock Stadium, located in Miami.
Neymar Jr. is once again listed after recovering from injury
After weeks of intense recovery, Neymar Jr. was called up for the first time to play in this World Cup, having recovered from a muscle injury in his right calf. The number 10, who worked intensely with the medical department and physical preparation, demonstrated good performance in recent training, according to Ancelotti. “Neymar is fit to play. He trained very well and his quality will be a great reinforcement for the team”, celebrated the commander, emphasizing his joy with the star’s return.
