The children of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle will probably not have contact with their cousins, heirs of Prince William and Kate Middleton, during their next stay in the United Kingdom. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex plan to return to the country in July to promote the next edition of the Invictus Games, whose opening ceremony is scheduled for July 10, 2027, in the city of Birmingham.

A publication, made this Tuesday (23), indicates that Archie, aged 7, and Lilibet, aged 5, must remain away from George, 12, Charlotte, 11, and Louis, 8, throughout the entire period they are in English territory.

The expert on British Royal Family issues, Amanda Matta, clarified that, despite possible improvements in relations, the Prince of Wales and his children have a full schedule for the northern hemisphere summer. Any attempt to reunite the cousins would require extensive planning and the goodwill of everyone involved.

Matta also highlighted that, in addition to commitments, tensions between Harry and William, as well as between their respective wives, represent a significant impediment to the meeting, especially if Catherine needed to be involved in the preparations. This prolonged estrangement between the royal children not only reflects the depth of the family rift, but also impacts the public perception of the unity and cohesion of the monarchy.

However, another source linked to the North American vehicle mentioned that, although it is unlikely, the possibility of a meeting between the little ones cannot be completely ruled out.

Emily Nash, journalist and editor of Hello! magazine, said: “It’s difficult to predict. If it’s part of a larger family gathering, it’s possible they’ll be in the same room. But considering the nature of William and Harry’s relationship, I don’t imagine they’ll make an extra effort to spend time together just because Harry will be in the UK.”

Even in the face of William’s animosity, Nash stated that Charles III’s youngest son still wants his children to be able to create bonds with their cousins, especially after so many years away from the family.

It’s important to remember that Archie was born in 2019, approximately a year before Harry and Meghan renounced their roles in the monarchy and moved to the United States. Lilibet, in turn, was born in 2021, on North American soil. In 2022, the Duke and Duchess of Sussex brought the children to Queen Elizabeth II’s Platinum Jubilee. At the time, Archie and Lilibet did not appear in public, but they had contact with their great-grandmother and grandfather.

Previously, the Daily Express newspaper reported that George, Charlotte and Louis were the royals who missed Harry most, who was long considered the children’s “favourite uncle”.
