The legendary Ronaldinho Gaúcho, 46 years old, was confirmed as Ravenna FC’s new reinforcement. The official announcement of the signing by the Italian Serie C club took place this Tuesday, in Miami, during an event that marked the presentation of the “R10” brand and brought together team leaders, commercial partners and guests.
This strategic partnership positions Ronaldinho as the centerpiece of an initiative that combines football, marketing and international projection aspects for the Italian club.
Expressing enthusiasm, Ronaldinho declared his desire to start this new phase. “I can’t wait to meet you, to be there. We are very happy and I can’t wait to help and, who knows, score my last goal”, said the former number 10.
The Brazilian star will perform institutional functions and represent the club’s image, engaging in promotional campaigns and world events. He will also be registered with Ravenna to participate in official games, with the expectation of taking the field in at least one match for the Italian team. Control of Ravenna is in the hands of Italian businessman Ignazio Cipriani, a figure linked to the renowned Cipriani Group, which manages a vast global high-end hotel and entertainment conglomerate. This business connection is fundamental, as the main objective of the collaboration with Ronaldinho transcends football, aiming mainly to expand the club’s international projection and boost its sporting development, especially after the team came close to promotion to Serie B in the previous season. The presence of the former Brazilian national team player is seen as key to catapulting the team’s visibility on the world stage.
President Ignazio Cipriani, when commenting on the partnership, expressed ambition. “The idea is for him to score his last goal as a professional for Ravenna. We want to take Ravenna to Serie A, it is a well-known club in the world and I think it will be a great party when Ronaldinho is there”, declared the businessman.
