Insomniac Games has taken a position on the release format for *Marvel’s Wolverine* for 2026, shortly after Rockstar Games confirmed a significant change to the physical media of *Grand Theft Auto VI*. Unlike its competitor, the mutant game will have a traditional disc in its packaging, avoiding replacement with just a download code.

The statement from the studio behind the next X-Men title came in response to an intense discussion on social media, where Rockstar’s decision to *Grand Theft Auto VI* became one of the most talked about topics among video game enthusiasts. The company confirmed that “yes, the physical version [of *Marvel’s Wolverine*] will include a disc in its box”, dispelling consumers’ doubts.

Rockstar Games’ choice for *Grand Theft Auto VI* was justified by the intention of allowing all consumers, both those who opt for digital editions and those who purchase the physical version of the game, to pre-load. This functionality will be available from November 12th, one week before the official launch, scheduled for November 19th.

The long-awaited action-adventure title, which features Logan as the protagonist, is being developed by Sony Interactive Entertainment. The exclusive launch for PlayStation 5 is scheduled for September 15th this year, promising an immersive experience for players.

In the narrative, participants will be transported to a scenario where the X-Men have not yet formed in the Marvel universe. The plot will delve into the challenges and complexities of the main character in a journey that promises to be both emotional and full of brutal confrontations.
