The new Pokémon TCG expansion “Emerald Storm” has had its first cards and details revealed to the public. The official launch of the package is scheduled for July 31st, introducing new mechanics, attacks and skills that promise to shake up matches. Among the new features are the expected “Mega Rayquaza ex”, “Fletchinder ex” cards and support items, with full descriptions of their effects in the game.

Developed with a focus on “Sealed Battles”, the “Emerald Storm” collection encourages a form of play in which participants build their decks on the spot. This format requires players to open sealed packs and assemble decks using cards obtained from Basic Energy, promoting a more adaptive and balanced strategy among competitors, as everyone starts from a similar starting point.

Main cards and strategies from the “Emerald Storm” collection

The card “Mega Rayquaza ex” stands out for its ability “Roar of Fury”, which allows the player to view the first four cards of the deck and attach a Basic Energy to the Pokémon when moving it to the Bench. Its “Emerald Storm” attack deals damage proportional to the amount of Fire and Electric Energy to all of your Pokémon, making it a centerpiece for massive damage strategies.

With the “Exciting Dive” ability, “Fletchinder ex” can be played from the hand to the Bench if there is a colorless Mega Evolution ex Pokémon on the field. Its “Claw Hunt” attack deals 150 damage and allows you to fetch up to two cards from the deck to your hand, perfectly complementing the game dynamics of “Mega Rayquaza ex”.

The “Adventure Lantern” item facilitates the construction of hybrid decks, allowing you to search for a Fire Energy and an Electric Energy directly from the deck. This versatility is crucial to optimize the preparation and use of cards that depend on these types of energy, ensuring greater fluidity in plays.

Adding a tactical layer, the “Mega Rayquaza Cap” item gives the attached Pokémon the “Gift Delta” attack. This move allows the player to attach a basic Energy from the deck to all Pokémon that also have the same “Cap”, accelerating the field’s energization.

An innovative Stadium card, “Legendary Summit”, can be activated by combining two different versions of the card in your hand. Its main function is defensive: it reduces the number of Prize cards the opponent collects when a colorless Pokémon is knocked out, making it more difficult for the opponent to close the game quickly.

The “Game Master’s Animation” Supporter card allows you to draw two cards, but this amount can increase to four if the opponent has three or fewer Prize cards remaining. This advantage becomes even more relevant in the Sealed format, which uses four Prize cards, allowing strategic reinforcement from the early stages of the game.

Another Supporter card, “Higana’s Trust”, allows you to swap an Active Pokémon for one from the Bench, and then reallocate Energy from the swapped Pokémon to the new Active Pokémon. This mechanic simplifies maintaining offensive pressure and activating powerful attacks.

Special campaign for players of the new pack

To celebrate the release of “Emerald Storm”, a special campaign is underway, encouraging players to experience “Sealed Battles” at home. Participants who share their experiences and impressions can compete for a “Mega Gallade ex” SAR promotional card, a limited edition for 2000 winners.
