Young striker Yan Diomande, aged 19, is Real Madrid’s newest signing. The prodigy left RB Leipzig’s training center in Saalfelden, Austria, on the afternoon of August 6, 2026, to travel to Spain and complete his move. He has already undergone medical examinations and signed a contract that binds him to the Spanish club until 2033. Diomande’s arrival at Real Madrid, known for investing in young talents, demonstrates the Spanish giant’s confidence in his promising career and the club’s investment in future stars.

The Real Madrid team will pay an initial amount of €125 million to RB Leipzig for the signing. The total transaction value can reach up to €140 million, depending on performance bonuses and targets. If the bonuses are achieved, the negotiation will become the largest ever carried out in the history of the German club.

Yan Diomande’s last moments at RB Leipzig

Diomande had joined the Leipzig squad at the training camp on 5 August, a day earlier, after recovering from an infection that ruled him out. His spell at the German club was brief. At 10:30 am, the winger left the “Gut Brandlhof” hotel, where the team was staying, on his bicycle towards the training facilities. Initially, he remained in the physical preparation tent and then said goodbye to his colleagues. The athlete chatted and greeted Christoph Baumgartner and Benjamin Henrichs before getting into a golf cart.

Diomande’s journey back to the hotel took place at 10:44 am. In a short time, he left the sports complex permanently. At 11:47 am, the player and his team boarded a black minibus, heading to the airport.

Arriving at the airport, Diomande changed his RB Leipzig uniform for casual black clothes. At almost 2pm, a Cessna 560 jet took off with him on board towards the Spanish capital, Madrid. At that moment, the transaction was officially completed.

For the German club, the transfer ended a period of uncertainty that lasted weeks, marked by intense negotiations between the two associations. The last details were being adjusted in the previous days, and now the process has finally been finalized.

In an official statement from RB Leipzig, Diomande expressed his happiness. “The transfer to Real Madrid is the realization of a childhood dream,” he said. The Ivorian player also made a point of thanking the RB Leipzig board for making the change possible, despite having a contract in force with the club.
